Below you can see my Cockroft Walton voltage multiplier. It consists of rectifiers from TVs and 15kV/1nF film capacitors. The multiplier is potted in paraffine wax to reduce corona discharges. The toroid on top of the multiplier serves the same purpose.

The power supply. It is similar to the flyback supply described on my website and produces a variable output voltage. The schematic is from Robert E. Iannini's book "Build Your Own Laser, Phaser, Ion Ray Gun & Other Working Space-Age Projects" (ISBN 0-8306-0604-1).

Multiplier and power supply connected. The spark length is up to 10cm. Pictures coming soon (my digital camera is afraid of lightning :-)
